Anyone have experience with air shocks? Good or bad?

Heh back to the 70's eh?

They're great if you want to carry extra weight in the back. Terrible ride/handling characteristics.

Exactly. Also the ones you linked are for 70-81 F-Body. Not 82-92. Razz

They also overstress the shock mounts. If you do the 70s thing with the big tires, if you have a shock blow out or an accident.. the back end will drop and cut the tires too.

Generally they're not a good idea.

ooh. Thats not good.

So what would you reccomend for wheel size? I have 15x7's for the front. I was thinkin 15x8 or 15x10's if they fit. I'd like to not have to use a bunch of wheel spacers. hahah

Wheel width isn't the problem. You could do 15x10 no problem, but the backspacing has to be correct.

Alright so what should the backspacing be? And I don't want it to hit the fender.

What size tires?

Tape measure.

Don't know that any of us except Jake, are doing anything close to the fat rear, skinney fronts.

Most of us like handling, so we keep the sizes pretty close all around.

I've got 245's on the front and they're rubbing on the fender wells.

The wheels I'm getting come in 4.5" backspace and 5.5". The stock 16" wheels have a 5" backspace. So I'm not so sure which way to go here.

Had 245's on stock rims up front on my IROC and they barely touched the plastic at full lock on a lowered car. If stuff rubs it's time to find a baseball bat, not time to buy crap skinnies. Laughing

Whats the biggest size tire you can put on a 7in rim? I already have the 2 15x7's. Got em for free. Can't complain. Laughing
