Figured I'd start a new thread since this is a seperate project. Got my new 2.5" stainless Pypes exhaust on today. It has an Xpipe and Violator mufflers. These things REALLY have a bite to em. You can definately hear the cam now. Weird thing is, its quiet at road speed.. just hear the wind noise. Actually quieter then the stock crossflow muffler was.

I'm really happy with this exhaust kit. Amazing how well it fit, considering they had no idea what kind of headers I'd be running. It came with all the clamps and hangers I needed.. even extra.

Pic of it out in the daylight. Smile

The new 1/4 panel.

Mufflers tuck real nice considering the car wasnt designed to put them there.

Good ground clearance even!

Video will come as soon as it finishes uploading. It was loud enough to screw with my camera's mic though.. so quality isnt that good.

maybe I haven't been watching your posts well enough, but I think the primer black looks good on the car. I favor it over the factory red.

Factory was actually gold.. like the Rockford Files car. Ewwwww But someone had repainted it Buccaneer Red.. which wouldnt be bad if it was good. So ya.. I agree.. this black looks waay better then it used to look. Smile

Looking good. Vid doesn't capture sound well like you said. Need a recording like the one you took of the 454 w/Voodoo cam Thumbs up

Brandon, it also looks like it has the chevy 8.5" rear. Was that factory on all 2nd gen F-bodies, reguardless of make/model? I'd have thought the ones that were Pontiac's who had a real Pontiac motor, and the TA's who got the 403 Olds motor, would have the BOP 10 bolt.

1970 TA's got the 12 bolt. 71& 2 I believe got the 8.2" 10 bolt. After that all the 2nd gens got the 8.5" 10 bolt. Some Pontiacs do not have C-clip axle retention like the chevy.. Mine however does. Sad

Ya IIRC the official original color of that particular Formula was Denver Gold. Too bad Rockford's wasn't a Formula 400.

Lookin good, my man! Can't wait to see her in person.

Rockford's was a Firbird Esprit.

I would have gone with the down-turned tips, but that exhaust looks sweet!

Actually the downturns werent a stock item at that time. If you look at the first pictures the straight chrome tips are what it came with. For extra you can buy the other kind to add on to this kit.

Other then the hood my car would have looked alot like the rockford car. I've found that the rear spoiler was added on later, and the car had a vinyl landou roof?? Confused

I posted on a pontiac board and they accused it of being an esprit until I posted the first 5 of the VIN.. Then I got the "learn something new everyday" LOL

The guy I bought the car from had at least a dozen 2nd gen firebirds including a '73 Formula 455 w/ a 4 spd. He said that your '74 had a few odd option combos so I guess he was right. I think they look incomplete w/o the spoiler.
