I've been poking around trying to learn about the pitfalls of LS swaps into 3rd gens. Seems that the stock K-member is a problem with the AC compressor. There is no good trans crossmember that gives exhaust clearance and a torque arm mount location. And you pretty much want to stay away from Spohn for anything LS related.
So what is working well? The BMR K-member and trans crossmember? I'm not excited about a tube K-member. I'm going to look into modifying my own. I'm also thinking of using clam shell adapters for the engine mounts. But I'm concerned they will sit higher than LS mounts. |

I've got Spohn motor mounts and they work fine. Even allow for not notching the back of the kmember. (meaning, the oil-pan clears. It's definitely close but it clears)
Unless you're needing the room the factory kmember is overbuilt for street use, I'd stick with that and do the notch. There are quite a few write-ups on TGO showing well done notches.
The trans xmember I have was a Drews unit from back in the day.
If you can't have that made/make that I think Skulte offers a similar boxed version. They don't show it on the page but in the top right corner of this page http://www.skulte.com/index.php/cPath/22 they show a small picture of it. You might be able to get them to repo one? Whatever you use if you want a TQ arm mount you'll have to add/have added to it.
At this point I think "LS swap people" is just me around here. If you have any other questions let me know. There are a few nuances along the way. _________________

| I talked to a friend at work and we might hack up my Spohn unit for TKO and put it back together for T56, twin humps, and torque arm mount. The other option is to use the cheap double hump Hawk's trans support and then install a torque arm mount to the body. |

| No. I have a 4th gen fuel tank and I was going to put that in with a high volume pump. Haven't researched fuel lines yet. Not sure if I can just use my original fuel lines or not? |
