So the gauges work. Except the water temp. It worked for a second; Went up to 150 and stuck. Tapped on the gauge and it went back down. Now it doesnt work.

Is this the gauge or could it be the sending unit?

Sounds like the gauge to me if you tapped on it and then it went back down.

Aha. Check for proper wiring. If it is DOA, call Autometer. They are pretty good about replacements in my experience.

I ordered it from Summit. I should still send it back to Summit right?

And could it have been the sending unit that went out?

If the sending unit went out, you need to send it back anyhow, seeing as the sending unit is part of the kit you bought. Razz

I'm still betting on the wiring being crapped up.

Well I thought it might be the sending unit if it read the temp then stuck there. idk. Maybe it caused something in the gauge. Sent a message to Autometer. And Summit. Get 2 answers. lol

Pull the gauge out and check your wiring dude.

The sending unit is a resistance based sensor. So any resistance you caused with your wiring will cause problems.
