| Does anyone have a picture of the non AC controller? I'm pretty sure they're different but not sure. I want to be sure before I go spend $100 on a non AC controller. |

why not go to the junk yard and spend 5 bucks...plus beware, depending on the year, they may be different. _________________

Controllers are totally different, at least the ones I've looked at in the JY. The non-A/C controller uses cables to operate the blend doors and the HVAC controller uses vacuum acuators to operate the doors. _________________ 92 Camaro

I have the non-A/C heater Box with A/C controllers and it stay stuck on Defrost, which i guess is most important around here. _________________

| The box and the controls dont really have much to do with it. If you are stuck on defrost, you likely have a vacuum leak somewhere. |

with the non-AC controler you will have one less fan setting, as well as the fans being physically different in size. IIRC, with the 82-89 control you should have 4 vaccuum lines and 2 cable controls on the console as well as the two the cable controls for the air vents that sit directly underneath the steering column. _________________

@ nonsense kid: from 82-89 the non-AC cars got a cable-driven heater box, so the entire thing: box, controller, vents, was radically different than the AC cars. In '90 they switched so the non-AC cars got a vacuum-driven box, with vacuum controls. I believe (but am not certain) that in the last three years, the controllers are interchangeable. I would make nice with Luke and see if you can pop his out for a quick look.
Also, $100, wtf? I bought my last MOTOR for a hundred bucks.
@ James : Seems to me if you installed a non-AC controller in an AC car, you would have a lot of vacuum lines left over. |

Its for a 91. And I'm helpin Luke with his swap next week. Maybe we can look then. hah
But yeah the A/C was all vaccum driven. There was one cable and I think it was for the hot to cold.
Time to head to pickapart! soon enough. haha |

Pick n pull in sherwood has a non ac car. Probably a mid 80's version. Had the earlier front end on it. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

| Well Luke confirmed. We pulled out the non AC unit and it was in fact different. Time to head out to the junk yard. |
