				| Made a sweet trade this last week. A local kid come in, asking if a 700r4 convertor would work in a th400. He blew up the 700 in his 4x4 shortly after installing a 2k rpm stall convertor. Being tired of blowing 700s he was wanting to swap to a th400, but didnt have a convertor for it.
Anyway, so I tell him they don't interchange, but I have a convertor if he needs one. Thinking I'd sell it cheap(same convertor Paul borrowed for a short time). At least someone would use it before it rusted to nothing. Then he offers to trade me the new 700 convertor for my 400 one..

So now I have a B&M holeshot 2k rpm stall convertor with lockup. Fits in my 87. That oughta pep things up a little!

On that note though, now I need to figure out how to flush this thing out real well. Since his trans did die, I dont want leftover pieces finding their way into my new one. Our regular trans shop says they got rid of their convertor flushing machine because it didnt work well. They say to just pour solvent through it. Sounds scary to me. Going to do some more calling around, but anybody got other ideas?

				| I wouldnt recomend using it. It may have been why his transmission went out. | |

				| Actually.. i'd think the "built" motor with an aftermarket carb setup(read wrong tv cable setup) and big ass tires is probably the reason. But never know. | |

				| I think its going to come out ok. Would still like to flush it. I poured some fluid out of it into a clean glass. Fluid is dark but doesnt smell extremely burnt. It's also pretty clear still. Not alot of sign of particulates. Ran a magnet through it and nothing at all stuck. So now i've got the thing turned upside down in a bucket to try and drain as much as possible. | |
