| As I'm searching for engines I want to make sure that I am looking at engines that will actually drop in. Anything special about Corvette or Truck engines that will not work in my car? |

Oil pan has to come off of an f-body.
Truck accessories and intake manifold are a no-go; too high up in the engine bay. F-body has the easiest accessories to fit in. Are you planning on running A/C? It can be done in several different ways, each with their own issues. |

We know you're not adverse to cutting the hood, right? |

Ya, I was suspecting the truck alternator sat too high based on pictures.
So the Camaro pan comes off, but what replaces it? Or do you mean that I must use an Fbody oil pan?
And what about Corvette accessories? Any cross-member clearance issues?
What's the story with A/C? I guess I need to know the options before I choose. I have all my A/C parts in a box. Path of least resistance is always good.
I guess I could read the sticky at thirdgen.org, but it is so much easier to let you guys do all my research. |

Some of us have done all the research before.
The camaro pan has to be used. The vette doesn't fit, the truck hangs WAY too low, the GTO sump is in the front and would be right where the kmember is.
From what I've seen you can use the vette accessories although that will mean if you want to retain AC you'll have to use the vette stuff mounted low on the passenger side. You have to notch the kmember for the 4thgen so you'll need an even bigger notch for the vette stuff. (The vette acc sit closer to the motor than 4thgen.
All that would be using the 4thgen/vette compressor. However, you can get brackets to mount your thirdgen compressor high up on the passenger side.
