I'll tell ya Flea, I may just have to resort to that!
Now on the flip side, Everyone One of Them will gladly do the side windows!
So who ever can do the terrarium glass on the back, gets the sides!

Mike led me on to Tommy's window tinting on the east side of the river downtown. They did a pretty good job on the mazda. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Let us know who you find. I've been wanting to have mine done for a while, they're freakin purple. Only thing missing is the fairy glass etching, and it sound like that might be easier to do. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

I've watched the guys at the store that put mine on. The film is formed to the shape of the back (or any) window on the outside, using soapy water and a heat gun. After it's formed to the window, the backing is removed to expose the adhesive and it's applied to the inside with soapy water and a squeegee and the excess is cut off in the process.
Not something I really want to try, but really doesn't look as difficult as some make it sound. Without distractions, the guys that did mine could do one of our cars in about an hour, maybe 90 minutes. _________________ 92 Camaro

Ya, I tried the outside of the window heat gun thing. I also tried buying the film pre-cut. I had the glass out and laying on my backroom floor when I did it even. I tried 3x.. this is the best I got it. And no matter how clean I got the glass just the dust in the air around here would cause problems. |

Paul was correct1 These dudes are the Real Deal, and they were right up front that the back window is time consuming,
and lets not forget the defog wires
I will post up what it runs me, the ball-park for all 3 windows was around 200 - 220. To add some tint to the T-top glass add 20.00
Another buddy gave me a referral, I will check it out as well.
I did check with a place on 82nd by Stereo King, but they were 395.00 that seemed a bit outlandish! _________________

That picture is awesome.
'Where would I tint' was kind of my point. Nothing is ever up and it'd look funky with the top down and dark windows up. |

I have been to window tent class. You described what they do correct, but its not that easy. Depending upon the curve of the glass depends on where you need to start heating first, how much, etc. Tint % also changes things as well.
Some dont use water to hold it in place while forming, they use dryer softners to hold it in place
But the biggest thing is clean clean clean, and do it in a clean area.
Depending upon what soap is used, depends on what shade the tint will have
Another thing I see often is that they cut the tint down to the smallest amount they can. Well after time that tint does shrink and you get gaps at the edges _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

I've tinted mine no problem, then had a shop tint the next one so I could keep a warranty and get the nice tint. Currently mine is one piece. Much easier to do with the window off of the car but you can do it installed. The last tinter rolled the tint from the driver to passenger side to avoid a floppy sheet of tint. Just takes a lot of heating tint fingers to get it to form to the shape. _________________ E30

I got my '94 Camaro tinted at a place in Fife about 10 years ago (don't know if it still exists). They had no qualms about the back glass and did an awesome job. They used the darkest film they had for the hatch because it is so big it lessens the effect of the tint (something to keep in mind). Back then it cost about $200 and I was happy to pay it.
