ok so drove my car about 30 miles to movie theatre and back, then on my way to work it died, the motor seemed pretty hot, i didnt pay attention to the temp guage when it died so idk what it was at. but i checked for spark, and nothing. and i just put in a new distributor, ignition module and pickup coil. the coil is a MSD streetfire coil, i bought it new when i started the swap so about april. coil and distributor are under warranty so i thought i would swap em out tomorrow.

this happened about 3 days ago too, but it just started after about 5 mins.

anyone know why it just randomly loses spark?

(idk if anyone has texting but i have court in the morning and wont have time to check the computer except in the morning at 6am, so it would be cool if someone could call or text me if they know what might be going on with my car) number is 253-224-9795

thanks guys

Verify power to the IGN Module and Coil.

What he said, and That high voltage coil might not agree with that stock replacement distributor.

Thats what kept happening to my car when I had an Accel coil in it. Hope it doesn't pop again.

Coil shouldn't hurt the ICM. These ICM are 12v. Only time you run into that trouble is when the system calls for a ballast resistor or resistor wire. Ours don't.

I kept having problems with aftermarket ICM's. I had to put a delco back in.

You can buy a cylinder and have it recoded to your current door key if you want. Security lock and safe on 6th ave in Tacoma used to do it for my dealership for ~$25.

I got one out of a junkyard car for free when I got other stuff. Then had the locksmith around the cornor re-key it for 10 bux.

Easy to do, just time consuming to pull door panel n all that junk off.

I forgot about you running a divorced coil. The pigtails getting bent over and crapping out is not a new thing, same thing happened on my IROC.
