Ok so today the ignition cylinder in my car decided to lock up. I couldn't turn the key to start or to off, it was stuck in the run position. To turn the car off I had to take the feed wire of the dizzy, and no matter what I tried I couldn't get the damn key out. So I tore into the column and removed the whole cylinder. It still won't release the key so I'm assuming I need a new cylinder. Anybody else think thats the solution? I can't be throwing money at this problem, I have other things to throw it at lol. Thanks ya'll.

Sounds like a new lock cylinder to me. Mine did the same thing a couple of years ago, but being a 5-speed, was a bit easier to shut off (put in gear and stall it) and then disconnect the battery.

Mines a 5 speed too but I didn't think stalling it would be a good idea. Plus I was already working under the hood. Well I guess I need to find a lock then. Ricks seems to be having issues with their website...I'll try classic industries. Any other places I should check?

You can get an ignition lock set at any autoparts store.

I'm not sure what year of car you have. But if your key had the VATS chip it will complicate things.
