A used set of Trick Flow heads for a complete SR intake?

There is a guy on TGO that is looking to sell (1000.00) or trade a complete SR intake for a set of aftermarket heads. I have a set of 1st gen Trick Flows that I had planned on installing on my wifes car along with a HSR. But....I only paid 900.00 for the TF's 10 years ago and wouldnt mind having a SR on the bench to swap out the T-Ram for an apples to apples comparison.

What would you do and why?

Thats a good price, but some of these heads had crappy guides along with weak valve springs. Mine only has the weak springs Very Happy

I am thinking along the same lines though, complete SR is worth about 800.00 - 1000.00, used Trick Flows ? Less than the SR for sure. I would include a set of correct ARP head bolts and washers though.

Heck, no one's saying you have to buy Trick Flow's either. You could step it up to some AFR's. Very Happy

The dilema is that I planned to freshen up the heads and put them on my wifes IROC. If I trade the heads I will be looking for another set and probably spend a grand for them. I dont need the intake but they are getting harder to find and it is worth more then the TF heads I have sitting on the bench.

I wouldnt go back to TF's now that AFR's dont cost much more. Thats why I swapped out the TF's for a set of AFR 195CC eliminators on my 87 Cool

A part that is getting used is worth a whole lot more than a part on a bench.

Lol, this is what I am debating. A good deal on a hard to find intake versus a decent set of heads that needs valve springs. I am a sucker for a good deal, thats why this trade has my attention. I dont mind waiting for a good deal on a used set of AFR's if I can come out ahead on the SR intake trade. I know the correct answer, trade the used TF's for the hard to find intake, then worry about replacing the more easily replaceble heads.
