I'd really like to find a set of transmission coolant lines that aren't beat to hell. I hate doing double flares on steel lines, so im trying to avoid fabing my own. need them for a 89 camaro V6.. thanks

There isn't a terribly large amount of pressure in those lines. Some rubber line that is rated for ATF use will work temporarily if you route and clamp it well.

That's what I did on an '87 Trans Am recently as a temp fix and it has been holding up well so far. Kinked the tranny cooler lines when I pulled the motor without removing the lines first. Embarassed

Ran rubber in the Monterey once I got past the exhaust. Thousands of hard miles on that car, and no trouble with the line (only the trans itself crapping out). Rolling Eyes

Use transmission cooler line (red colored thread in the hose Very Happy), run it four to six inches up the metal line, and put a clamp at the end of the metal, as well as at the end of the rubber (two clamps per joint).
