| I was out running errands and I happened to make a quick WOT 1st-3rd pull then stopped at a light soon after, next thing I know is my throttle feels really wierd when I try to take off. I look down and my freagin' gas pedal is laying on the floor! WTF! |

It;s not that hard actually. It's more a lever than a rod sticking up.

I've driven the Monterey for two years with just the pedal rod. No big deal unless you're wearing boots with wide spaces between the lugs, or a heeled dress shoe. |

My truck is like that, it's alright until I get into some really hairy 4x4 situtations with muddy boots on, then I tend to look like an idiot while constantly killing it as my foot slips off the rod.

My Model A Furd has basically a rod for a gas pedal lol. But its supposed to be like that-hard as crap to keep your foot on it.

Dad used to tell me there were two knobs on the dash and one on the floor that controlled acceleration on pre-40 Fords. The "foot feed" (gas petal) and "hand feed" (the throttle button on the dash). Other button was the choke.
guess they hadn't figured out the spring/lever system most carburetors have as we know it.
