Delco shows a different part # between the V6 SFI and V8 TPI in-tank pumps. Might consider upgrading to a good pump if you're gonna build this car down the road. Save you cash and a tank drop later on.

Knock sensor is the little UFO-looking thing down low on the passenger side of the block.

Axle and driveshaft get reused assuming you're sticking with a normal GM trans (no short th350 or anything).

The other guys could give you better info on what brands of performance in-tank pumps are good.

Knock sensors you can get new, or JY. Make sure you get the one for a 305, not the 350.

Knock sensors you CAN get new however they're really not a commonly failed item so I'd try to grab one from a yard. Check out the part number from schucks/vatozone and see what all it fits. Probably not much but the 305... Truck sensors may be similar?

I've had a walbro hotwired in my tank for the last five years, no problems. *knock on wood*

I have an edelbrock pump hanging around here. I don't know what it's for. It's brand new. I'll grab the number off it tomorrow. If it works for you, you can have it. I don't know who makes the Edelbrock pumps though?

You'll have to double check the parts #'s, but Ian's pump should be this one:

www.racetronix.com

Get the L98 Fuel Pump Wiring Kit for $55 and the 255lph for $100

Never have to upgrade the fuel pump again. Unless you're big block twin screw/dryer.

The knock sensor is specific to the motor. If your pulling the motor out of them parts cars, it should have one.

Trans is different from v6/v8.

Rear axle has different axle ratio. The v6 is steeper geared which is what most people go to. So you may want to keep it unless one of the parts cars has a lsd/posi.

The TBI fuel pump is very low pressure, like 9-13psi? Where the v6mpfi/v8tpi is like 45psi? However, the v8 is a higher gpm. I have read about people putting the tpi pump on carb/tbi cars and putting an inline pressure reducer.

IIRC the H.O 305's (L69) motors had them, and the LG4's pre 1985 didn't.

The knock sensor just replaces one of the block drain plugs in the side of the motor. It does need to be torqued to spec though. Overtightening makes them more sensitive.

Yeah, Edelbrock 3581. Actually the pump body has AC stamped on it so I'm thinking ACDelco made it for edelbrock? I don't know...

maybe I picked a poor way to phrase it.....

I'd check before you pull the motor and see if it does or not. 82,83,84 LG4's would not have a Knock Sensor, your 85 might
