Well finally got my car into my step dads work and we put it on the rack to see damage that was done and why my car pulls to the right. Well first off i glad to say its not all my fault.
My car looks like it got banged up awhile back, the cross member is hammered pretty hard which looks to be causing some off alignment on the passenger side... the three bolts that hold my lower control arm on.. wait did i say three? yeah well theres supposed to be three but theres only two in and the furthest towards the rear looks like its never even been on the car for its existance and is hammered like a good 3/4" back.. you cant even see the thread hole to screw anything into..
After all that we got it adjusted and aligned about as good as possible for now. I gotta buy new crossmember and going to get new control arms.. and im doing the ls1 brake upgrade so i get to do it all at once at least.
Well after sharing all that.. how good are the after market k members.. i know they dump off some weight and everything but will they hold up just as good as this stock piece... which apparently didnt like what it hit.. hehe anyway you can all add this to your novel list youve read in the last year.. i know its the first book ive type, i hope your proud its a tear jerker _________________ 1985 Z28. | I don't think they are all that strong, none of the road-races in thirdgens will run them because of strength issues. |

| the stock k-member is pretty strong, the aftermarket units are going to be weaker, but weight MUCH less. its up to you, and the intended use of the car. |

well its pretty much just my daily driver, done all the engine mods i want to it about just suspension left and losing weight is always a good thing, but then again i dont want to weaken my car either. ill take a look at prices and see what its worth. _________________ 1985 Z28. | Since its a driver, i would say stay stock. IF you do go the tubular route, make sure you go mild steel, and not chromoly. |

from what i've heard, the weightloss is the only benefit to it... one hard bump over a speedbump or pothole could pretty much ruin the thing and cause enough problems for you to need a new one ...
that and you can't jack it up from an aftermarket one either _________________
