Ok guys, my situation right now isn't too 3rd gen friendly, no garage, no tools, not even covered parking etc..I bought this car more on wim because I'm sucker for them more than I needed the car. If you've seen my thread in the garage, the car quit running on me a couple weeks ago.
It ran absolutely beautiful before it died. When it died, it didn't make any weird noises or do anything strange, just acted like I turned the key off. Like I said, I have limited resources up here for wrenching on cars so I haven't been able to do much with it since it died. I've replaced the ignition control module, and the coil, the only thing in the distributor not new is the pickup coil. Has new plugs, wires, cap/rotor etc etc. Has a brand new battery w/warranty. I'm thinking it's the fuel pump, when I turn the key on, you don't hear the pump turn on. I'm going to replace the fuel pump relay tomorrow and cross my fingers but I have crappy luck so it's probably the pump itself lol.
So anyways, that being said. The car is in decent shape, needs paint, interior is good for the age, has the typical tear in the drivers seat and could use a headliner, otherwise its pretty good actually. Body is straight minus a couple dents on the front fenders. Almost all the lights are new on the car. Has power everything (no radio).
The car drives and handles very well, the steering is nice and tight, drives perfectly straight at 75mph etc. Anyways, hopefully it's just the relay and I can get it started, but running or not running I think I'm going to sell it either way. If I had a place to store/work on it, it would be a totally different story.
The car itself is 86 TA, LB9 (305TPI), Auto, hardtop, 9 bolt posi rear with 4 wheel disc brakes. Has American Racing Torque Thrust 2 Wheels and nearly brand new tires on it (Wheels and tires both almost new).
I would be willing to sell the wheels seperate from the car, especially if I don't get it running, but depends on the offers I get etc. Hell not running, the wheels/tires are probably worth about as much as the car lol.
So anyways, if you're interested, let me know and we can talk..I haven't really decided on a price but use your best judgement and shoot me some offers, I know it's not worth a ton of money. _________________ 91 Z28 |

I'll buy the Trans Am.
No seriously, have Phil drive up there, swap wheels over, and I'll tow it down to Tacoma.
You have PM, Chris. |

This has worked for me in the past when the fuel pump is going out. Smack the area above the fuel tank with a hammer a couple times and it sometimes miraculously comes back to life (usually not for long). _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6
