Man, I heard the wind sounding like a jet airplane this morning, but I didnt get up to go see what all had happened. Power was knocked out for 4 or 5 hrs at least this morning.

Later this afternoon I finally went outside. My metal deckchair had been blown completely from one end of the deck to the other and into the picnic table. Pushing its bench and the table!

Then I start heading for the barn and see that it blew my fence over! Beside the truck theres 4 boards down and it actually snapped off one of the treated fence posts!

Now i'm getting worried, my fiberglass hood is sitting on the top of my 74.. and the 87 is tucked into the barn too. .I dont trust that old barn too far.

I get out to my shop area, and wth? My engine hoist is OUTSIDE! The wind blew the papermill felt i'm using for a door up, ripping the nails out. Then it started swinging and pulled the whole damn engine hoist out the door depositing it in the grass!

Luckily no other damage. Hood stayed in place thank god.

Anyone else get hit by this storm?

It's been windier than hell lately. No damage. Makes raking the yard a chore though. And riding my bike gets exciting. No loss of power thankfully.

You think that barn will last you through another winter? Are we going to have an old fashioned barn raising?! Laughing

Its 120x90 with a 30ft skylight after last years snow.. I just need better organization. Laughing

Naw, if I actually owned this property i'd put up a pole building. Something with a little insulation and actual doors. That way I wouldnt have to work with a 40k btu heater 2ft away from my ankle.

Just saw on the news that Long Beach and surrounding areas were hit pretty hard. Lots of power outages.

I just raked the yard last week. Now I have to rake this half acre lot again. I'm not too excited. No damage to anything thankfully. We have a large tree that's is directly in front of my bedroom. Our insurance company decided that they would not insure us unless we cut down that tree because it was a liability in a wind storm. That was running through my head most of the weekend.

strange how nearly 300 miles away the weather was doing the same thing, i thought we were going to have to rebuild our fence 2 times this year, no power loss, just rattling windows and small children screaming.
