I used tint, instead of paint..how does it look??
its not perfect, which sucks
if I use the water/soap/alcohol with it, is it possible to get all the bubbles out?
should I just paint them??
and if I paint them, is it easy to make them look good?? _________________ -Donald

Sorry Donald, but with all the bubbles those look terrible. It might be a workable solution if you could get the tint to lay out properly on the lights, but I would be worried about the material wearing. It's designed to be on the inside, and on glass. |

| if you can work out the bubbles i think it looks great...plus if you get tired of it you can just peel it off...time to pull out the blow dryer and massage those bubbles out |

haha, that's kinda what I wanted to hear!
but I think this stuff is actually made to go on other things besides glass, and on the outside. The instructions were putting some fake carbon fiber on a fender

yea. I just did this one quick, I didn't use hear dryer/heat gun at all, and I didn't use the watery solution either. _________________ -Donald

The water/soap is specifically so you can squegee out the air bubbles. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Also, the water/soap makes it easier to get placement right. And the heat gun is so you can form the stuff to irregular surfaces (curves and such).
Painting is much easier, only drawback is that it's harder to remove if need be.
Mine came out pretty good, the picture looks darker than what they really are.

To me, tinted lenses it depends on the color of the car. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

| I would leave them stock, or just do a slight nightshade on them. I think the firebird lenses look fine as is. They don't have the HUGE turn signals like the Camaro's, that mess up the look. I think the tint, especialy with bubbles still in it, just looks cheap. |

haha it was cheap but i figured that if it didn't work on the tail lights it was cheap and I could easily do my front side turn signals and my rear side lights with it!
thanks for the input! I just needed to build up enough courage to paint them! _________________ -Donald

oh haha I meant how many coats of night-shades did you put on there?
but that is also very useful!
you sand it with like 1200 grit first or something? _________________ -Donald

| Again, maybe about three thin coats of Night-Shades. I didn't really use any sandpaper since the lights, but I scrubbed them clean and then I scuffed them a little with a scotchbrite pad, and then sprayed a plastic adhesion promoter on them (like a clear primer) before I hit them with the Night-Shades. |
