Hittin the track tomorrow. Not sure what time I'll get there, or if the line-lock will fully work lol. Seems like I'm having some Kage troubles. Brakes work fine, but the line lock doesn't seem to do much. Got a little wiring to take care of, bolt the slicks on and go either way! _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Think my master cyl is on the way out. Get the sinky pedal sometimes. So the line lock only worked sometimes.
LOL Then I bound up the spider gears. Acts like a ratchet locker around corners! Kinda violent too.
Then on my last 2 passes the ignition was cutting out at high rpm for some reason, but didn't on the way home LOL.
So I think my best was 12.9@109 never got a decent launch. Trying too hard to get the line lock to work.
Main points: I drove it home! LOL and I didn't lose any power. So I'm happy really. Hope to rebuild the mazda tranny this week and go back with a trans that doesn't rake and has a performance clutch! _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Did you ever get oil pressure?
And just to add... you have really bad luck with master cyls. I have never known anyone who has had so many go bad on them. _________________

If your going to put a new master in, you might consider swapping to a 4th gen one. Bolts right in, looks much cleaner, and I found a reservoir that has a low fluid level sensor in it. I wired it up to the waring light switch off the prop valve so I get a warning light when my fluid level is low. I did have to flare up one end of the front line, but that was only about 5 mins worth of work. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

The one I used was from a 95 car. The back line as I recall worked fine, but the front tubing nut was different, larger threads, but still a bubble flare. I've read an LS1 car master is a direct bolt on with no changes at all. I got a really nice older one for free, so why not take 5 mins and make up a new line and use it. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Ok, just checked and it was definitely the front line I had to modify. I believe the line at the prop valve side had the wrong size tubing nut, so I just used my the new line and my tubing nut and I was in business.

Don't have the stock prop valve anymore. I can make new lines, just not bubble flares. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I used the pre-flared lines NAPA has. They fit great on the master cylinder (mine is LS1). They may come with the sizes you need on each end, but IIRC, I re-flare the other end for the prop valve and the front tee. _________________ 92 Camaro

You can rent "for free" a really nice bubble flare tool at schuck's, works very well. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Was the reservoir from a '95? I thought just the LS1 cars had the indicator in the reservoir?
Either way, I'm rocking the 4thgen MC as well. I *thought* I used my stock fittings but I guess I could be wrong. It has been in the car for ~4yrs or so. |

The reservoir wasn't from a 4th gen. The 95 master had a regular reservoir and I looked around in the bone yard and found one off a buick I believe that fits perfectly. They are very easy to find, I saw about 20 of them that day and picked the cleanest one to get. _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

LOL Hey I conquered them the last time! Now to rock the 12.5 if I can get some launching! And fix the spider gears. Sigh. Sucks when the most expensive part of the differential is culprit. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Hehe that would be nice! Would be nice if the guy telling me to start my burnout...... would tell me to start.... then stop way early.... then wait.... then go to the line.
I'll get it soon. Little research on this True-Trac unit. Might come out yet and just beat on it without the linelock! _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |
