man every thing i own is going to hell in a hand basket (Except the trusty T/A) not only is my stereo broke but now my laptop too. i bought the laptop used for $300 and it worked till about a month ago, i went to best buy and asked them what was wrong and i guess its the bios password and my hard drive is nuked. can anyone here fix that? and if so how much for?

get a new hard drive and i might be able to help you out, need more info though what kind of laptop is it and so on...

BIOS pass is easy. Pull the CMOS battery, or jump it, or just pull the main battery out for a day or two. Had that one on my Toughbook, which is a b***h because it has no jumper or CMOS battery. Damn NATO standards. Laughing Rolling Eyes

Is your hardrive physically damaged, or just in need of a format? If it's the latter, I have an old XP wipe disk somewhere... Shrug

the harddrive is f'ed and needs to be replaced. so if i leave the main batt. out for a day or two it will bypass the bios password? ill try it and tell you if i workewd or not

pull the main battery and then press the power button repeatedly for like 10 minutes (it resets the.... well i forgot what there called but it should work)
