Did the vettes ever go to a map system with no cold start injector?

Thinking of going to the vette heads, vette base intake, and plumbing an EGR in off my y-pipe.

What does it matter. If you use your computer you're fine. All the sensors hook up. Really don't think you'll gain much from the heads, and the base from what I understand is identical as far as flow characteristics are concerned.

You'd be better off with Vortec heads and the Vortec base IMHO if you're staying TPI.

Otherwise ditch the TPI and go HSR and not have the wall.

I dont want to have to plug a cold start injector hole and possibly have a spot for another vac leak.

My heads are the 810 swirl heads. I have ALOT to gain by going vette heads.

The vette base is different because of the EGR hole.

Price is my main concern, I have a cracked head, needs replaced.
1. If I go vortec they cost more. Then I have to buy the over price special base.

2. I go vette, they bolt right in. I dont HAVE to swap lower base, but would like to.

The "wall" you speak of, I have not found on my car. Because I have no need to rev it that high.

Better do some research on vette chamber sizes. Your swirls I think are 58cc. If the vette heads are bigger you'll lose quite a bit of compression.

I know the base is different. I wrote

Vette heads were made for 350s, not 305s. You still have the 305?

Plugging the hole is no big deal. Hell, weld the thing shut.

I think I remember Joe putting Vette heads on his 305 and making way less power than a stock 305 TPI.

I didn't know ANY TPI motor came with swirl ports. Thought that was TBI and crappier specific.

oh, so the egr is still under the intake. Crap.

But I guess I could mount the EGR outside, and just make a "jumper pipe" in the intake. Idea

Didn't you just say you were worried about vacuum leaks?!

You likely dont know, I dont have a normal wiring system, and dont use the UFO egr. I am running a digital egr.
