I had these "crystal" clear park lights and side markers lying around and had already coated them with Nite Shades, so I put them on the car. I wasn't sure how they would look against the red, but I like it Very Happy I still like the look of the stockers better when they're coated, but the ones I had were so messed up that I couldn't get a good coat to stick without cracking.

Here we are...

...and with the lights on behind them

Thanks. I got the stockers to take some tinting, and while I was at it, I decided to clean up the encrusted pollen, mold, dirt, etc. that builds up in the creases and whatnot. I got the grille, the park light pockets, door jambs and hatch seal areas - some nasty stuff in there just from having the car sit outside Shocked

Anyway, since the grille wasn't in really great shape and faded (and I want a different one before long), I cleaned it up and painted it body color just to see what it would look like.

Here's all the crud that was in the creases...

More up under the top edge...

After clean up and paint, not the best job, but it'll do for now...

That is the plan (Z28 or IROC), but for now, this will do Wink I may try sanding the edges down to expose the black underneath and see what that looks like too.

Either way, great work al!

The grille is temporary until I get a Z28/IROC grille to replace it with. After that, maybe the headlight pockets will get a black coat of paint, always liked that look. Just for grins, I scraped the paint from the leading edge of the 3 louvers with an exacto knife - hard to see in pictures because they're such thin lines Cool

I like shaded ambers, though I think I like my clear fronts better. Just wish the fronts of mine weren't so cloudy.

Nice work though! I enjoy seeing your quality.

Has anyone else tried the brake-clean trick? It takes the cloudy part right out. Just wipe the plastic with a rag after you've sprayed a SMALL AMOUNT of brake clean on it. Seems to do the trick.

Had'nt heard of that. I got most of it out the old fashioned way, then scuffed and sprayed them Very Happy

As for the grille, I like the look, but like most of you, I like the black better, it breaks up the front a bit. Since I'm replacing this one, I thought I'd try some other things with it Cool
