my car is a 91; bird V6 the tranny is sloppy in second gear and I have not had the propper time to or money to swap the tranny out and I just got a new pressure valve plate and am waiting to pick up a new set of gaskets and check balls to go with the swap and my biggest concern is passing emissons testing with the 2nd gear getting sluggish,will this have an effect during an emissions test in vancouver ,wa?

Can you maintain 25mph climbing a hill?

If so then you're fine. If it slips and the RPMs surge then you might fail.

It revs pretty high in second and @4200 RPMs it kicks over to 3rd gear!
I have had 3 different mechanics tell me either rebuild or replace,but right now there is no real money to do either ,so I have to spend very little to nothing and finish build back up the tranny that Chevymad gave me,so in two days I will pick up the gaskets and what ever else I need and in the mean time try to pass emissions so my tags don't expire!...time for me is running out!
