Well my friend got a big bore throttle body for his LS1 Formula and holy crap is that throttle response insane! Tuned the AFR's and MAF a bit and the car was running hard! The 4 speed auto spun second pretty good Laughing

Good part for me is, I convinced him to give me his old TB. Bought the adapter kit and MAF connectors, IAC and TPS sensors and was ready to go! Small problem with the TPS sensor though...at idle the car reads 20% TPS so the fueling is all messed up. I guess you have to re-write the PCM AFTER installing the new TB and TPS sensor then the PCM recalibrate for the new TPS. Put on the 85MM MAF from an LS6 and threw in a quick MAF chart and I was set to go!

The throttle response is absolutely nuts and the low end has improved quite a bit. Unfortunately, the new power fried another forward gear in the tranny some more...so now the tranny is really toast. Only about another week until the race one gets delivered, so I put the stock TB back on.

Long story short, free mods = Very Happy

Did it bolt right up, or did you need an adapter?

Is the LS1 TPS not adjustable like the older ones? I get quite a bit of slop in the TPI sensor, so it's easy to dial in whatever you need for idle.

Adapter kit can imply many thing. Wires, cables, etc.

If the TB on an LS1 is anything like that on the vortec trucks, no adjustment on anything.

There is an adapter plate to bolt on the LS1 TB. Also needed the LS6 MAF, 3-5 wire for the TPS and the 5-5 wire with IAT breakout for the LS6 MAF

1st gear slips really really really bad, 2nd slips somewhat, 3rd is non existent and 4th is good!

Did you ever try a ported stock? That was the next mod on my list, but having to f with the maf settings turned me away.

Ported stock is a waist of time IMHO...no real gains out of it. Larger gains are noticed by an even larger bore TB with no MAF inside the TB, blocking 1/4 of the passage.

Come on man...tuning the MAF is easy as pie Very Happy

IMO, just removing that stupid "hump" in it would be gaining about another 1/3.

Tuning the maf cost more money I dont have. I wish EFIlive would do as they said 2 years ago and support the L67. Looks as if I bought the wrong program cause the other program would support my "new" truck as well. Evil or Very Mad
