i was just wondering if theres a real diff in ignition peices like plug wires cap rotor and ignition coil for the 350 vs the 305 everyone had the 350 stuff but the stuff i want for my 305 is special order im wanting to upgrade my ignition setup but i dont want to burn out another piston if the 350 stuff has a hotter spark _________________

There are significant differences in brand but not from 305 to 350. Typically the hotter the spark then better. That's why many of us have after mArket coils which produce more voltage. When you have more voltage you need better wires to handle that higher voltage. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I'd be disturbed if they were telling you there was a difference... _________________

They should be the same... Cap & Rotor, no difference. R45TS AC delcos, or 26 Autolite, shouldn't be a different heat range from 305-350....
For wires Id get some MSD's or Taylors. |

MSD wires suck. Seen 3 die quick including one of my own.
Delco 45s and Autolite 26's seem a little hot to me. I run autolite 25's they are a colder plug. When I get my normal computer back tomorrow I'll give you a link that explains spark plug heat ranges. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I second this. I had the 8mm cut-to-fit MSDs on my bird for a little over a year and I went to change them to Taylors right before I wrecked it and 3 of the boots to the plug pulled right out of the wire. And those are on the factory installed side! _________________

No MSD. Get Taylor cut-to-fit wires off of Summit. Like $60 for the 8-cyl set. If you don't have a good plug wire crimper, Taylor sells a decent one, you will need something better than the usual universal crimpers. |

Sweet! I always thought Summit brand was MSD. That'll save some bucks. |

My Taylor LSx wires were $60 for the set. And they're only like ten inches long each! |

Haha, that's $9/ft! (6.66' @$60) They must be capitalizing on the fact that it's LSx stuff. Bastards |

| Damn Ian, at that price, you could have bought a full set, and put the coils on the firewall or something. |
