Hey guys, i just picked up an 85 trans am 5spd with no motor, and am going to check out a 350 to swap in on sunday. What numbers should i pull off of the motor to i.d. what size it is what year it was made etc... where those numbers would be, and is there a website that decodes the numbers? thx in advance

Casting number on the driver side of the block near the Bellhousing mounting flange.

You'll want something that I.D's as either a Large Journal 327 or 350 Block. (both will have a 4.00" bore)

Moretec works too. google it.

Now how is one supposed to ID a TPI engine while it's still in the car?
