So I just finished painting my car and took it for its first drive.
Another 5.3l decides it wants to play. Hes already infront of me. This one I actually had to work, but still passed him.
So either I have alot more then I think I have, or these 5.3l's arnt what I thought they were I'm running mid 9's in the 1/8. Is that good, or so-so?
But I'm just happy its all back together and 1 color I still have some inside seam sealing to do, but I can do that whenever. I do need a right rear gfx piece, so if anyones got an extra, let me know. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

no, It was semi dark by the time I finished and all my trim is dirty. So let me spray it off today and I'll take pics.
BTW, it wasnt the whole car I painted, just the fender. So it looks same as my siggy. |

Mid to low 9 second 1/8th is good for a high 13 to mid 14 second 1/4mile pass. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Thats what I told my friend when he said he might have a date for me for the concert.
13/14 1/4 mile. Thats not all that good to me.... well for a 18yo car thats decent. But a new truck should get that easily right? |

| Are you kidding???? I'd be surprised if a full size truck can get under 16 seconds. |

The LS powered trucks might hit 14's but 13's are definitely out of the question. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Pics are in the rust thread.
Thanks everyone, it was for sure a new experience.
So I should easly beat a 5.3l then? I thought they got better then that. If they can only get 14's, maybe 13's. Then I guess I got a little more then expected |

consider the fact that your about 1000-1500lbs lighter than the Silverados/Tahoes with the 5.3 in them.
I'm sure they might have more Hp numbers, but the power/weight ratio is in your favor. _________________

Nissan titans hit high 14's stock. Some diesels can touch 14's stock as well. But I don't know about a 5.3. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

| I could drop a 5.3L truck with my Olds Aurora. The Aurora ran 16.0 flat on my G-tech. You guys are waaaay optimistic about the capability of these trucks. Even my tuned Duramax with a 5.5 second 0-60 was still in the 14s. And there is no question that a tuned Duramax can lay to waste any 5.3L. |
