Well on my bumper anyway, im taking the firebird to the body shop pretty soon, because I got rear-ended last Saturday on my way to work....

Nothing serious, just scuffs and scratches (the guy was only doing 5mph and I stopped for an ambulance.)

Ended up being about $650 bucks worth of work tho...

Excellent man! That is a good looking formy. We gonna have some good pictures at dyno this year. I haven't done a count but I hold out hope that someday we will have a gathering where birds outnumber cameros.

Hail hail

No worries bubba. When I joined up 8 years ago there was a completely different mix. A lot of the same cars are still here and in much better shape - cosmetically and mechanically.

It's all good Cool

Bumper looks good, and they buffed the whole car. Glad to have it back but it reminded me that I gotta get a transmission soon. Rolling Eyes

Yeah I saw that, but Im goin' 5 speed.
I think I'll have more fun with the stick, and I have already had the auto out once to get some work done on it... Then when I get 3.73 gears I'll still get decent mileage and have that "Off the line" grunt.

I'd like a 5 speed too, but I think interior and complete repaint will come before any real radical changes under the hood. I used to paint for a living but its been 17 yrs since I've held a spray gun but I am working up the nerve to tackle it. if I screw it up I'm stuck with it though...

Well the last time I painted anything was 1992, there are some things that are like riding a bike but the muscle memory is long gone, and the rust is thick indeed.

I am going to tackle mine this summer, but am going to keep it super simple, and might even buy a fender and hood etc, as practice panels first.

Guess what I'm saying is that before I even think about committing to a job I'm gonna have to see how mine turns out...

It is something that I would be interested in at least in conversation but I'm a long ways from jumping all over it if that makes any sense at all.

understood i am not in any hurry to get it done yet need to save a little $ first. for some reason not high on the list yet. the finger nail polish they other guy used is keeping the rust at bay.
