Can't help with the pigtail, I used to have some drawings with that info on them, but I can't find them any more. I did make a post or two for someone else trying to decipher the wire colors, I'll search and see what I can find. If all else fails, you could always subscribe to All Data and find everything electrical about your car.

EDIT: I found it. If you're looking at the 20 pin connector, this is what I have in my 89.

Pin 1 - GRY - Left Front Speaker (-)
Pin 2 - TAN - Left Front Speaker (+)
Pin 3 - DK GRN - Right Front Speaker (-)
Pin 4 - LT GRN - Right Front Speaker (+)

Pin 5 - BLK - GND
Pin 6 - BRN - Interior Park Lamp Supply Voltage
Pin 7 - GRY - Instrument Panel Lamp Supply Voltage (Dimmer)
Pin 8
Pin 9 - YEL - Fused Output (ACC)
Pin 10 - ORN - Fused Output (BATT)

Pin 11
Pin 12
Pin 13
Pin 14
Pin 15
Pin 16

Pin 17 - LT BLU - Right Rear Speaker (-)
Pin 18 - DK BLU - Right Rear Speaker (+)
Pin 19 - YEL - Left Rear Speaker (-)
Pin 20 - BRN - Left Rear Speaker (+)

The ones I left blank are not used. Hope this helps a bit. You should be able to find the corresponding wires under the dash if your harness is hacked, that's what I had to do. Of the blank ones, pin 16 for the Camaros is used for a VSS input for Speed Controlled Volume, and pin 14 (I think) is used on the Firebirds for steering wheel controls, but I'll have to look that up again.
