going to have to admit... I downloaded it out of curiosity, and I'm not regretting it, but not fully enjoying it...
kind of sucks to say it, but they just need to hang it up and call it a good two decades ...
on the other hand, Hetfield is apparently making another few songs for a new Dethklok CD with Brendan Small (creator of Home Movies and Metalocalypse) and Gene Hoglan (drummer for Strapping Young Lad)
So... I have that to look forward to...
Sad to say it though, but a bunch of tracks based off of a Cartoon has outdone much of the more current metal out these days |

| Well Metallica just surpassed U2 and the beatles with this record. They're the only band ever to have 5 albums debut at #1. They also did this in only 3days instead of the usual 7. |

I used to be a huge Metallica fan, even after the "Black" album came out and they went commercial. I don't think their new song is all that bad...better than anything off their last 3 albums, but I did not like their new video, or at least how I perceived it. Just my 2 cents. _________________

The last good Metallica album was ...And Justice For All. This band that calls itself Metallica these days is hella weak!
And yeah, TJ was the biggest Metallica fan ever back in the day! _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

well, i'm a HUGE Metallica fan (have been for 15 years) and thought the new album was ok. i liked St. Anger, but thought it was the worst "produced" album ever. i don't know what they did to Lars' kit, but it sounded like crap! Musically, the songs were pretty good though.
i think they tried to hard on the new one though. There's no songs that really jumps out on it. there are some sweet riffs here and there, but that's about it. It was nice to hear Kirk lay down some sweet leads again. Not every songs needs to be 8 minutes either, not every song can be master of puppets. it got to the point where every track just sounded like a big jam session and nobody knew when to stop.
i'm glad i got it, but i probably won't listen to it much except on long road trips. _________________ we all gotta start somewhere.... |

Dream Theater is awesome! They covered the entire Master of Puppets album live! Not sure if it is on an album or not, but its out here on the web somewhere. |
