| I don't bother to de-presurize mine, just put a bucket under there to catch the fuel that comes out, and work fast. I usualy only lose maybe 1/4 gallon of gas. |

I got the idea to unplug the wiring pigtail to the fuel pump (just above the rearend) after I had been doused with gas trying to "work fast" changing it...
Just unplug it, start the engine, let it run out of fuel, still get a drain pan since theres a possibility of loosing fuel, replace filter, hook up the pigtail, walah! _________________

if the line before and after the filter are rubber then you should be able to crimp them with a couple of clamps. replace the filter and hoses then release the clamps and you should be good to go. _________________

Fuel pump fuse is right above the battery in a two-wire weatherpack fuse holder. The bucket idea is fine for a carb, or TBI car, but mine holds 45psi, kinda hard to catch all that in a bucket. |

FI cars are all hardline. I haven't looked at a factory carbed one but I'd imagine they are hardline as well. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

| Factory carb only has a filter in the carb itself. You might also want to open the gas cap, release pressure, then retighten it before changing the filter. The pressure in the tank will force gas out. If you leave the cap off, you can get a siphon effect too. I never bother with releiving pressure at work. Just swap it and go. I doubt you lose more then a pint. |
