That is broken. This time its the new brakes.
It would seem something is missing from there....
It sheered it off, I can feel what is left of the bolt in there. So, looks like tuesday or wednesday next week, I'll be drilling it out. I am going to double check with Ed, what grade bolts he used, if he supplied grade 8 bolts, then I may need to tap it out to a larger size to get a bigger bolt in there....
So, the camaro sits yet again. I haven't really gotten to drive it since cows. _________________

| Bring it up. We'll weld it and unscrew it. I wouldn't even try to drill it out. |

| There was a recent thread on another board about broken grade 8 suspension bolts. They're the gold iridite finished ones. You don't want that finish on any bolt, especially if its from china. Edlebrock has been sending these out. Several people report them breaking. A good grade 8 bolt should not have a problem. Go to vancouver bolt and get good hardware. |

Paul,
The only thing I worry about, is driving it up to your place. I don't want to damage anything else. But, yes, welding something on, and being able to get the bolt out easily would be a huge time saver.

I had the same exact bolt back on on me a couple weeks ago.
Our cars are always breaking though. I've kinda just gotten used to it. If something hasn't broken and left me stranded trying to figure out how to fix it in a week, I consider that a damn good week!
Good luck on getting it back together and really testing out those brakes! _________________

yup, still drums in the back.
Paul, I might just pop the spindle off. That would probably be easier than extracting the bolt on the car. I'll look at it when I take it apart, and descide. |

What size bolt did you use? I'm thinking my 1/2" bolt idea doesn't seem so bad anymore. I'm still waiting to get a .4919" drill since I have the tap. Good to hear the caliper didn't bind into your wheel! |
