| Dual fans? If it's a single, is it switching on and off like it should? |

These cars are old enough so that a bunch of debris could be piled up between the radiator and the A/C condenser (if so equipped). Check the condition of your radiator to make sure air can flow through it for good heat exchange, not just water. _________________ 92 Camaro

Have you started the car with the ALDL test grounded to see if both of the fans can be forced on? |

Take a paper clip or stiff piece of wire and ground the A and B terminals:
Ignore the arrows in the pic, you want the two terminals on the top right. After that, turn the ignition on with the car off. That should kick on the drivers side fan. |

no it gets close to the 3/4 knotch on mine cuz i know for a fact that the TPI motors run hotter than the TBI but its like scary cuz i never had a vehicle run over 220 and i heard that running temp for the TPI motors is like 225 or something in that range |

isnt 220* half the gauge?
even still, north of 230* is much to hot. does the temp go up & down at all? when you added coolant, did you do so while it was running? as to not get an air bubble? _________________

If I remember correctly the stock fan switch is set to come on at 225*. Hence the reason why some people opt to get a different switch that comes on earlier, like Derek, or get a manual fan switch, like me. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

At my work we got a Hyden fan switch kit that will kick on your fan at about 195* thats what im running, along with a 180* stat. like $22 bucks!
it works great, the only draw back is that it doesnt utilize any of the stock set-up. _________________
