I swear I have the worst luck. I was on my way home from work at around 10:30pm when I notice water droplets on my windshield. I thought this was kind of odd because I had my window down and didn't notice any rain. Not to mention the weather was great today. A few moments later I casually glance at my temperature gauge out of habit and notice that it was climbing close to the 220 mark. I make sure that my fan was on and didn't think much of it since I had just driven up a hilly section of highway 26.... but it kept rising. Once it got over 220 and closed in on 240 I pulled over at the next exit and parked my car as quickly as I could which happened to be at St. Vincent Hospital's parking lot. Luckily Derek (fiveoformula) was cruising with me in his car and we started trying to to figure out what was wrong. When we opened the hood we noticed water and coolant all over the engine bay, but it was all spray, we couldn't find anywhere it leaked from. After we let it sit for a few minutes I noticed that my overflow bottle was empty. I just filled to overflow bottle earlier this week. So I pop off the radiator cap and it was bone dry inside. We tried to fill it back up and we noticed that it was leaking out underneath the car. After a closer look it appears that I have a terrible leak at my water pump. I was forced to leave it in the parking garage as we couldn't find anybody with a trailer. So now I think I'm going to try and replace my water pump tomorrow afternoon in the parking garage and if we can't do that I'll just rent of of those dolly's from U-Haul. BTW I just got my car to run earlier today. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

ya dude, same exact thing happened to me last week. but i made it home. lol but ya changing the water pump in the middle of a hospital parking lot.
anyways, i went with the edelbrock water pump. i think the part # is 8881 and a 180* stat, and the temp hasnt got near the 220* line yet. the thing is,i had to grind on that waterpump a lil to get it to fit properly. no big deal tho. so far it gets my stamp of approval... _________________ gas brake dip dip |

Thanks for the offer Tony but it doesn't look like I'll need it. I got the water pump and headed over to my car with Derek to replace it. when we pulled the intake lid off we noticed that the coolant hose going to the throttle body had disconnected itself. Apparently the clamp that was attempting to hold it on was too small. we managed to get that connected and filled her up with coolant and here I am. I guess my luck isn't too bad after all. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S
