oil fixes oxidation???

ok i think me and my brother r crazy but heres the story

my brother was putting oil in his honda and the paint on the hood was really oxidized and bad and he spilt some royal purpal oil on the hood and when he wiped it off the oxidation was gone for the most part i thought he was crazy but it looks alot better he even went a little crazy a dumped oil all over his hood lol but it looks alot better

so r we crazy or did it work i dont really know right now i dont even know how it would be posible or what but what do u guys think could it have worked and if so how cause im confused

i think you guys are a little crazy. The reason it probably looks better is because you made that white oxidized clear coat now invisible. But I would venture to wager that the oil will soak into the paint and eventually soften it. So don't leave it on there.

If any came off, then it was just likely surface rust that just started. You need to clean that spot REALLY well, and attempt to fix it.

ya i thought it was crazy cause it made no sense but as far as it messing up the paint it was so messed up all ready cause its a 20 year car thats not in the best condition plus he onley did it on the hood and hes been thinking of geting a new one enyway
