Is there any way to remove and replace the centerlink without damaging the tie rod ends? I know most people just beat them out with a pickle fork, but will that mess them up in any way? Or should I just get new tie rods too, and not even worry about saving the old stuff?

I generally leave the nut flush with the top of the tie rod, use some heat, and a hammer.
I don't think pickle forks have ever hurt a tie rod but they will tear the dust cover. You can get new covers though so its all good. _________________ E30

Thanks man. So are those dust covers and off the shelf item, or are they specific to the car? Mine are already blown out from someone using a pneumatic greaser or something on it.

i've noticed that they get kinda sloppy after a while. I know energy suspension sells them cause I have a set I never put on. They are a bit stiffer and made of a thicker rubber than stockers. I would imagine that the parts store would carry them too.
