Seems to be a new trojan, or an old one spread in a new way anyway. This will come to you through windows messenger. You'll get a message from a friend saying check this pic out, or this is cool, or some variant. If you click it you'll d/l the trojan. After that you'll be sending that message out to everyone in your contact list. I'm not entirely sure if this thing is residing on my pc or not. It may have just taken my account and is sending from a different location. Because at times messenger logs out and says i'm logged in at a different pc.

Anyway, I got this from a crewbie so its going around. I've gone and changed my password, so hopefully if its taken over my account that will stop. I'm also running all kinds of spam/virus scans.

i am pretty sure it is on ur computer because she got her computer fixed and now it dosent happen anymore.

i actually downloaded it but never opened it so i didnt get it Smile

one thing i have learned from working in a computer repair shop, you get what you pay for with virus protection. don't use the free versions of mccaffe or avg. buy Norton, CA, Panda or the pay versions of AVG or McCaffe.

good luck clearing your systems guys. viruses suck.

This appears to have been a phishing type virus. Tricks you into entering your windows id then uses it elsewhere. I've been seen logged in when my pc wasnt even on. By changing the password it seems to have stopped the spread. I've got one care for virus protection but have run several others as well. All come back clean on my machine now.
