I've toasted 3 idler arms in 3000miles.
Tie rods/Center link DO check out okay.
Ball joints are good.
What gives? |

| What vehicle? If you're that hard on them you might want to step up to the Napa Chassis line. They re-engineer all the suspension parts to be much tougher then stock. |

| All I can think of is crap arms. Wonder which kind of joint your arm has? The crimped style are pretty crappy. I've gone through exactly 1 arm in 280k miles. |

the only other thing I could think of, is that your centerlink is somehow putting some weird up/down force on it, and causing it to wear abnormally. But I would think to do that, you would have to have things pretty jacked up to get the centerlink that far off. |

On my v6 one(havent checked v , you could adjust the height of it. My only guess is, its getting mounted to high, or to low, and its binding the joint. But IMO, that would cause funky steering also. |

Even if it was off it shouldn't exhibit this kind of wear. Looks like there are improved designs as brandon says.
I put the last one in the same position as the alignment shop had set it the last time I had an alignment. |
