Can I ask why? From the pictures and mod list it seemed that it was it very nice condition. Can't wait to see your next one though! _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

| yeah it was pretty nice. but it got terrible gas milage and i needed something that got half way decent gas mileage to get to and from school with. and it had some issuses. it was going to take easily another couple grand to make it really nice. plus i made money on the car. |

making money on a car is difficult, and impressive. most people are elated when they brake even. nice job.
good luck with your new daily (what did you buy?). and keep us apprised of your new project. |

if it's an s13 it better not be a pig nose.
I have always thought s13s were nice looking. shame they got nissans 2.4l truck engine. the jdm "180sx" 1.8l turbo sr20 engine is far supirior. all forged bottom end if I remember right. |

Tony, not to nitpick but I think the '20' in SR20 means it's a 2.0 litre.
And there are quite a few people that are getting decent power out of the KA-T motors. Kinda like turbo'ing a 305.... |

huh.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_SR20DET
your right. the CA18 was the original engine in the 180sx, which was why it was called 180, but the SR is in fact a 2L.
i learned something today.

yeah, totally. no disrespect to the KA24. with a few mods (turbo) they will keep up with an SR car. it is a good engine, but stock for stock the SR is better. the way i was told the 240sx got the "truck motor" because with the sr20 it would give the 300zx a little too much of a fight, and at the considerably different sticker prices an American sr20det equipped 180SX would have cut into Nissan's market for the 300zx. so they de-tuned the 180SX to a 240SX for the American market. (the 300ZX was never JDM according to my Nissan enthusiast brother) |

Sounds about right. Two of my friends here at work are nissan finatics. Its nissan this and nissan that all day! Seems like anyone who has a KA always wants the SR. And ya, its forged internals with a closed block. KA and CA were open block I believe.
Funny thing about that SR20DET, it was a stock engine in my Sentra over in Japan! Woot! I just got 40mpg with that goofy little car. Lol. I'm not ready for the .400L addition.
And if anyone knows where I can get JDM/MDM (mexico domestic?) B13 Sentra body parts let me know. _________________ E30

What are you looking for?
Odd thing, the infiniti version of the sentra came with an SR20(non turbo) in the US. |

yeah mine is an S13 coupe with a CA18DET swap from japan with 39k on it. it's go a GT25 ball bearing turbo, a HUGE front mount intercooler, a turbo XS RFL blow off valve, full 3" apex exhaust, stand alone fuel management system, greddy tubro timer and boost controller, kenne bell bost a pump, slammed on tiens...etc. it's all riced out. but it's decent. i'm going to probly do the S13 silvia front end, sportmax 962 wheels, and tint the windows and call it good. cuz there is NO way in hell i'm going to have a nissan that is faster than my chevy, or have more money thown at it than my chevy.
and i'm thinkin my next project will be an IROC cuz i still have the 355 complete carb to pan that was going to go in the trans am, and the nitrous. so i just might have to build another third gen for summer. ya never know. |
