For this Knight Rider movie that I heard about, which is supposed to be on T.V this weekend or next?
I guess they're using a Cobra Mustang as the new KITT?
anyone know anything about this? _________________

It's a new Shelby. The show's trailers make quite a few claims based off of the "550hp" number. Funny that they never seem to mention the 3800lb curb weight, or the fact that the 550 number was pulled out of the air by Ford with no dyno proof to back it up.
*Edit: Seems the BB code doesn't like parenthesis in URL's. Oh well. |

Huh?
First Knight Rider was with a Pontiac.
Second it was with a Dodge.
Now it's a Ford.
What next, a fiat? |

| It's pretty hard to get a vehicle sponsor for a car that's not in existance any more. They have to choose from current production vehicles. |

The first movie. That thing that looks like a pontiac banshee concept car was built off of a mitsushitty chassis I believe. I can't remember the actual car they used. Eclipse or conquest or something? EDIT: just wiki'd it.
"The studio was unable to use a real Pontiac Banshee for the movie, so instead it hired Jay Ohrberg Star Cars Inc. to customize a 1991 Dodge Stealth for the Knight 4000. The custom car can also be seen, albeit briefly, as a stolen supercar in CHiPs '99. "

Would've been better taste if they used a solstice or something. _________________

The solstice looks WAY to happy and fun to be a KITT, i always thought of it as a bada$$ car that looked mean, and a solstice doesn't strike me as that. |

Bumblebee wasn't exactly in production. They could have tried harder to keep it with the General, or at least tried to pick an actual supercar. |

I'd take a fiat over a dodge or a ford...
hell I'd likely take a girls bicycle over a dodge or a ford.
new mustang didn't impress me personally when i drove the GT, the charger has been a disappointment from day one...
the solstice may not have been a great choice, but a hardtop saturn sky would have been understandable ...
shizzle doesn't get too much worse than going ford ... |

It's going to be... there's a method to the madness. You think the movie people just thought, "Hey! Let's make it a new Camaro!" There's a lot of money traded over those decisions. |
