cool! hope it gets done soon! Just a tip, you should pick up a new set of blinker lenses cuz the old fogged ones look like crap on a new paint job. Or talk to Al about smoking them out. but yellow nasty doesn't look good.

yeah you can see it, thats why most cars have a grill there to cover it. I haven't gotten one yet but its mostly because i haven't found one i like yet.
it looks like your shock absorber looks different than mine, must be because mine is an 83 and yours is a 92.

what about those?.. those with a blackout set of tail light covers.. |
Those don't look very dark to me, and your car would need something darker.
I took my stock ones and wet sanded them using some fine grit sandpaper and a glass polish to get them back to almost original condition (I could have done better). Then I sprayed them with VHT Nightshade paint, which is available at most parts stores. That way you can get the shade you want. My side markers did start out clear before I painted them. If you do this, make sure the spray can is warmed up in hot water (I used tap water), otherwise your finish will spiderweb.
This is the best picture I have that shows the tint. The purple car...

As hard as buying them off Ebay....
Al's are more rewarding personally, but I have seen many auctions for smoked ones. _________________

It's not hard at all, just takes a bit of time. Mine took a couple of hours, but they were in decent shape to begin with. Wet sanding them is just like doing the finish on the car, lots of water and not alot of pressure. If they're in bad shape, start with a medium grit paper and sand them as smooth as possible, then go to a finer grit and do the same, then start wet sanding to polish the fine scratches out. The longer you work at it the better they'll turn out. |
