I believe I finally found my valvetrain noise. I rolled all my pushrods across a mirror last night and found three bent. You couldn't tell they were bent by looking at them but when they rolled down the mirror, they were clicking away.

It doesn't surprise me though, I've re-adjusted the valves on this thing at least 5 times trying to locate the noise. Since I have it open, I replaced the lifters to eliminate them as the culprit too. Now I need to find a set of hardened pushrods today so I can get this thing back together and start tuning. It feels good to finally find something wrong with it after tearing into so many times!

Awesome! Glad to hear you found the problem. Any idea on how they got bent in the first place?

Go with the Comp Magnum pushrods. They are awesome.

Something else ya might want to try is the locking type rocker nuts. I put a set on my Z. Basically, they have a set screw in the center of the rocker nut. Once you lash down the valve to your desired lash, simply tighten the set screw. DONE!

Well I now have a complete Comp Cams valvetrain! CC high energy roller lifters, CC Magnum pushrods and CC Pro Magnum roller rockers w/poly locks. Should be bullet proof now!

No idea how they were bent in the first place, there is no other visible damage. The lifters and pushrods were both OE replacements from the local autoparts so, maybe a lifter failed internally too?? I'm not entirely sure the pushrods were bent though, they just didn't roll perfectly down the mirror like the other 13. Most of the pushrods kinda hummed as they rolled, these three clicked as they rolled but appeared straight. Who knows... I'm about an hour away from firing it up, just replacing the plug wires now and looking it over one last time.

Well it appears luck was on my side. It's all back together and much quieter now. I was actually even able to complete three datalogs today to boot. No leaks and running overly rich, progress! I needed a few stiff drinks to get rid of the headache all those fumes gave me! Portland Dyno or bust!!!

Well I did have one problem though, my radio no longer works, it's just static. The CD player works fine but no radio stations. I changed my plug wires, cap and rotor but didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Any ideas to look for?

Only thing that comes to mind is the antenna connection. Not sure how it could come undone (if it did) since the work was under the hood.
