I noticed today that the air deflector that attaches to the lower radiator support is not on my 89. Apparently, it's been like that since I bought the car. There have been no ill effects with it not there, even with all the baffling and air boxes in place. I'd feel just a bit more comfortable with one in place and having more air flow through the engine compartment.
If you have one or know where I can find one, let me know. I'll also look in the local yards. _________________ 92 Camaro

Is it that much different on a 'maro vs bird? I think I still have one around here somewhere.
What are you doing tomorrow afternoonish? I have tomorrow and the next day off. Maybe meet up and trade brake stuff? |

I thought that birds had a 3-piece deflector, or maybe just certain models. If it's a single piece, it might work, if it doesn't no worries since the car works fine without and I have time to find one.
I should be home most of the day tomorrow, need to cut some grass . If not, I have my phone with me all the time (well, almost). If you don't still have my number , I can PM it to you |

| The earlier birds were three piece I think. My 91s is just flat and straight all the way across. I think the camaros have more rounded edges though? |

| I think the corners are rounded, but straight otherwise, I need to look. The one on the 92 is bent pretty much backward from repeated scraping on steep drives and such. |

I'm about to make my own out of some sheet metal. Didn't know they were that cheap new though. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Too bad Chris got rid of the "Mad Max" sheet metal air dam that he/paul/brandon put on his car at cows. That thing was MEAN looking.
I would honestly just get a plastic one. The ammount of abuse that those air dams take from driving around and hitting stuff, sheetmetal is going to get beat up in real short order. |

I have one on my V6 car. It is slightly rounded on the bottom corners. No way I would make one out of metal though. I scrap mine ALL the time. Its like having curb feelers, I always know when I'm getting close to the road. Lol.
$36 is cheap for a new part though! _________________ E30

Even the single piece Firebird one Ian dropped off is a couple of inches too long on each end for the Camaro. I'll probably go new on this since they seem to be pretty reasonable |
