|
|
So I've got a hurst linelock to install.
The instructions are showing to install it After the prop valve/combo valve. It's a dual reservoir Master. Two lines (front/rear) from the master to the combo valve. One line to the rear and one to left and one to right.
The instructions show plugging one of the front brake line ports on the combo valve, running the remaining to the line lock, then running a left and right line from the linelock.
This seems redundant. Is there are reason I cannot just install this inline before the combo valve, on the single line from the master that controls the front brakes?
Thanks

| It'll cause a pressure imbalance in the prop valve, making the valve switch to one side and only using half your brakes. Also will turn on the brake light. |

Weird. I just though it locked the pressure down same as if you were still pushing your foot on the pedal.
Thanks for the Info B.
Guess I'll go get some more lines. Or delete the combo valve all together and get an adjustable prob for the rear.
I don't have a brake light :O) |

Got out the rule book (NHRA) and sure enough it states:
"If brake system includes a differential pressure switch, line-loc installed on front brakes must have solenoid installed after the differential switch. All line-locs (electric or hydraulic) must be self-returning to normal brake operating mode." |

Keeping the drums until I can talk Rodney out of one of his stock rear thirdgen setups. The backing plate mounting should be the same. All an S-10 rear is.... is a thirdgen rear shorter with different mounting. Everything else is the same, (Bearings/gears/seals/etc)
The chevette has drum rear. But I think it's still a 3/16 line while the s-10/thirdgen is a 1/4 line IIRC. I might be redoing it at some point. We'll see how it stops with what's in there.
Where did you get an Adjustable Prop valve for $20? The cheapest I've seen is the wilwood for about $45. |

| I got it used, but its a wilwood. Was a pain to get all the adapters for it. You're right that the S10 is narrower. Are you hoping to do a disk brake swap? You're keeping the rear leaf springs right? |

I can get a generic one through work which looks just like the wilwood without the logo... for $40 with 3/16 IF fittings.
No leaf springs 3-Link |

the problem is finding the fittings to screw into your master cylinder. and you are going to have to flare lines like crazy.
