my car has always had an interesting rattle coming from the engine, only at like 7-900 rpm, not all the time and goes away with a quick rev.
I've had a few people diagnose it as a loose rattling timing chain...
anyone whos done this job have any advice? what all do i need for this? _________________

How does the car run? Have you check the timing with the EST connecter plugged in and unplugged recently?
I would think that a loose timing chain would create some timing/Idling problems. Is there anything in the engine bay that isn't secured down 100%? _________________

well i had it unplugged on monday cause i reset the timing....
it first i thought it was the tensioner pulley, but i ran the engine for 10 seconds without the serpentine belt, and i still heard it....
the only thing different about the idle is if you go from a drive gear to neutral or park the tach moves up and down for second like 500-1000 rpm, then smooths out. _________________
