It's VERY dangerous to weld in/on a gas tank.

it was clean out at a shop and just weld them it no differant repairing small engine tanks.

but i do remember a guy in shop was repairing a motor cycle tank and he just used water to flush it out and then he started brazing it and woosh!!! it went lol i told him i think you got the gas out now.

No problem. Just fill the tank with CO2 first. The real trick is making sure you don't breath it and pass out....
