Does that mean if you don't want it, it's free?! Maybe I could have one of the northern folks grab it and bring it down for the Southern Ore. Gathering. I forget exactly how far north you are. Might have to pay AL to meet you!

I'd be interested in the stuff above for the local "chevette" project.

Might want to pick your brain on your v6 motor too!

Do the Gen II heads fit Gen I? Aren't gen II heads supposed to be aluminum?

Ya, just as long as it dissappears. If not I'm TOSSING IT ALL! Muahahaha Twisted Evil

There were two types of Iron heads for the V6. The GenII Iron had larger valves. In 86(?) chevy did a FWD aluminum head (GenI aluminum) and has done 2 more since then. Mainly what they upgraded was port design. And any 60V6 heads swap over to any block with the exception of the quad cam 3400. Check out the history at www.60degreeV6.com for more info.

I'm heading down this weekend to Poulsbo so if you want anything you better start coordinating! Al lives 10 miles south of my destination and I can meet him on Sunday afternoon. Do you want everything in the list?

I have more stuff too. I need to do an inventory of my upper shelf and my attic as well. The list will include a 4th gen dash, hood hinges, AC boxes, center consoles (one black no carpet, one gray carpet), gray hardtop visors, maybe some wiring.

If you guys were closer I'd just have an "open house" and you'd be free to browse around and take stuff (car stuff at least).

If you have an MPFI stuff laying around I'd go for that too!

Thanks AL!

Let me know if I can do anything for ya!

Are you after V6 stuff primarily? I could just load up anything I have and have you sort it out? Do you want the bar block?

I have a set of MPFI stuff but i want to keep it so I can still play with the V6 if I want to. Sorry. I do have fuel rails and 2.8 injectors though. I'll post more stuff tonight.

Looking to put a MPFI 2.8 into a chevette. Don't know that I could use the bare block since I wont have pistons/crank/rods/caps etc.

Plus I don't want to overload AL too much :O)

So far Chris and I are thinking about picking up an s10 for the block/trans/suspension/rear and then getting the mpfi from a maro somehow.

I have everything to build a V6 except for the oil pan, crank, and caps. I even have a T5 for an S10! But ya, poor al. Lol. I have a TBI setup too.

Well if you want to get rid of all of it, I'll certainly take it off your hands!

Think it would all fit in the back of a Wrangler or an '87 cavalier? It's got a pretty big trunk.

Are you taking the ferry or heading through tacoma? I may have sunday afternoon off.

I doubt al wants a 2.8 block in his car! lol

Could probably find a JY crank/pan/caps. For the chette it looks like a 4x4 pan would work best anyway.

I updated the list (am after I type this).

If I were you, I would get a 3.1 crank/rods/piston and put that in the 2.8 block. Thats all you need to make a 3.1! But i don't know about dragging a block down that far. It would be a real killer if I had to brake fast and I'm taking the Tahoe down. Lets pass on this unless you want to pay gas then I'll trailer everything.

Well, it might fit, but I have my subframe connectors (yet to be installed) in the back of the car. They don't take up a lot of room, but they do waste a lot of space for much else of any size to be put in there. Laughing

3.1 is kind of what I'm thinkin of doing. See if I can squeeze out 100HP out of this ! LOL

As far as the chip goes and efi stuff... do I need stuff from the 3.1 years, will a 3.1 chip work in say an '87 ecm etc. I know nothing of the v6 stuff, but can tune and do all that with the v8 stuff.

If you still wanted to transport everything else from the v6 stuff and the list I cut: trans, tips, starter, etc and ad the electric fan in I could still meet ya.

I'll take the block too if you decide you want to haul it down. Should be able to secure it in the back. I've hauled several blocks in the back of my old s15 jimmys.

Just let me know! Kind of making this a semi crew project! Since I'm poor and this is going to be a goofy project for us down here. :O)

Well then, we'll see. The problem is its a nice truck and I don't want greasy things in it Wink

But just so YOU know, a 3.1RWD is hard to find, a 3.4RWD even harder. So what you do, is get a FWD 3.1 or 3.4 (easy to find) and put the crank and rods in a 2.8 block with new RWD 3.1 pistons. The FWD blocks have different motor mounts and the starters are on the other side.

Start a new thread so I can answer your V6 questions.

I took pics of the consoles, dash, and intake. I'll post them tomorrow from work. Lol. Just standard parts though. The consoles have no carpet on them. Just plain black plastic. Looks like they need carpet, but they came that way from the factory.

Do you only have the lower part of the console, or do you have the upper plate as well? I don't need the lower carpeted part.

I'm interested in pics of the airbox mainly to see if it's split apart like mine is. One of the brilliant previous owners deleted the silencer, and smashed the box into several pieces before putting it back.

Basic stuff. But no, i don't want to split the consoles, but if thats the only way you'll take it then fine. The dual snorkle is the lower box and upper. Should be all you need.

2 DAYS LEFT BEFORE THE AL TRANSFER STATION!

Oh ya, and one more item, 115mph speedo assy, just the speedo no housing.
