So I was driving home from work last night, minding my own business and just cruising along I-5 southbound. There were no cars next to me or anything and I notice this pick up is getting pretty close to my rear bumper. He had plenty of room to pass me on in either lane next to me. He was starting to make me a little uncomfortable being so close so I floor it to get some distance between him and me and forget about him for a minute.

Then all of a sudden he comes right up on my bumper, like inches away. I was going about 65 or so, so I coast to the speed limit because he was pissing me off. He finally tries to pull in the other lane to pass me and I pull the old down shift and leave him in the dust trick. He tries to keep up.

after I get enough distance on him he comes flying up in the lane next to me and pulls just ahead of me so his bed was at my fender. The passenger was hanging out the window, cussing and swearing at me. Then he reaches back in the pick up, the holds the object out the window while he is pointing at it, still yelling and signaling for me to get next to him. He slows down a little and he's now pointing the object at me, which by this point, I now realize that I'm staring right down the barrel of a hand gun wielded by some crazy f***er. I immediately slow down to get myself out of firing range. My friend was in the car with me and I told him to immediately call the cops.

I memorized his license plate # (which BTW is B28717A) and gave the police the location we're at, the description of the pick up and people inside of it. It was a red 80's or 90's Nissan Frontier with a silver/chrome toolbox on the bed, drivers side tail light out. A Dark Star skateboarding sticker on the back window and the license plate number. They were Hispanic and the passenger was wearing a bandanna. he looked kind of older, like in his 30's. His clothes were a little ragity and bummish looking.

I kept my distance but followed him a bit to keep him in sight. which in actually was literally a car chase, he was doing 80+. I kept him within sight in case he took an exit we could tell the police, who were still on the phone. He then gets in the lane for the 217 exit (we were on 26 S now) so I "pretend" to follow just in case he tried following me. I got to the point where the exit started to split from the highway so I swerved back onto 26. Not too surprisingly, he tried to do the same. He was a good 6 car lengths ahead of me and slammed on his brakes and tried swerving back onto 26 as well but he was to far on the exit and would have hit the dividing barrier so he was forced to stay on the 217 exit. I didn't see him again after that. Pretty eventful and scary night it was.

So be mindful if you see this truck again, call the police.

that's pretty scary dude. You seem to have some bad luck with that car. First the egging, then the keying, now this road rage thing...

Maybe it used to belong to someone's dealer or a gang member or something?

no wonder you wanted to sell it Wink

Not an everyday event to say the least! Looks like you kept your cool which helped. Nice move getting seperated at the freeway exit. Kind of stupid for somebody to be so agressive in a Nissan pickup. It's only one of the slowest cars on the road and his rearend is so light he's completely at your mercy if you decide to spin him with your nose.

I had some guys in a full size Blazer mess with me one time while driving the Firebird. After following me around for a while they finally tried a stupid move. The road split around an island and they took the on-coming lane and raced to meet me on the other side when the lanes met again. I let them meet me just before the lanes met. I slammed my brakes and prepared to flip a u-turn. They were going full throttle and swung into my lane to smash me (or at least it sure seemed like that's what they wanted to do!). I flipped a quick u-turn and they raced away scared. They had plenty of chances to dent me up if they wanted. I think they were just being really stupid.

Hehe... That's a right of passage to getting your license. After I moved to Illinois I was flipped off by an old hag driving a yellow school bus full of grade school kids. I guess you gotta be tough to survive back here! Very Happy

Damn dude, that is some scary shizzle, looks like you react well in the face of danger atleast.

I've had done to me, and I have done to others some pretty stupid shizzle while driving, nothing quite that dramatic though.
