Ok, my tachometer is WAY off. I discovered this when they took my emissions test, and it makes since since according to my tach I idle at 1200 RPM.

Is there a way I can measure my true RPM easily, then just know that my tach is off by X amount?

get an aftermarket tach.

Our tachs are well known around the world for how inacurrate they are.

Is there any way that I can figure out just how inaccurate it is at redline without spending money? I leave for basic in two weeks, and until then Im broke.

not unless you can find someone up there with an ALDL cable and computer, but then you are still going to have a hard time. Chances are you tach will end up looking like mine.
