AHHH! the woes continue. so i go to pick up my brother from a friends house saturday morning . Ive never been there before but as it turns out the kid has a gravel road that was sprayed w/ oil. its all over my car. and i sprayed some type of cleaner on it, and it came off great. to find that the rocks and oil chipped off alot of paint!! im going to get the ghosted WINDOW paint buffed out hopefully this week. if it comes out. ughh. _________________ fortune favors the bold |

it could. if you just have small rock chips i would not worry about it, if you have primer spots where the [aint is falling off WITHOUT the help of rocks or other foreign objects then it can and probably will take off more paint. i have washed and waxed my car with rock chips down to primer and had no issues. |

Oh dude. That sucks. Some people's kids, I tell ya.
If you have water spots on the windows anyway, I'd try buffing the glass with an orbital buffer. You may get it all out! Don't stay in one spot too long though, you might heat up the glass enough to break it! But thats how I get the spots out of windows. I've never had any luck with glass cleaner or glass stripper.
The paint, eek. Nothing you can do about the rock chips except try to fill them in with some touch up paint. After it dries, use some fine wet dry sandpaper to do a "color sand" and then buff it out. |
